The Challenge

An international insurance group with UK-regulated carriers holds reinsurance registrations across Latin America. Keeping those registrations current means filing a steady flow of corporate and financial evidence with local supervisory authorities in Spanish: statutory financial statements, independent auditor’s reports, credit-rating letters, prudential authorisations, articles of association and tax-residence certificates. The work reached Guildhawk through the group’s legal and notarial practice, which certifies and legalises documents before they leave the UK. Every translation had to be acceptable to a foreign regulator, mirror the layout of the original and use insurance and financial-reporting terminology identically across group entities and successive filing rounds. Much of the material was confidential, market-sensitive or still in unsigned draft.

The Solution

Guildhawk ran the filings as one continuous programme, with shared linguistic assets behind every request.

The Results

Why this matters for insurance groups filing across Latin America

Cross-border insurance and reinsurance registrations are maintained on a cycle. Supervisors expect translated accounts, auditor reports, rating letters and corporate evidence in the local language, and they expect the entity named in this year’s filing to match the entity named in the last one. Where translation is bought country by country or job by job, entity names drift, financial captions vary, layouts stop matching the originals and regulator queries follow. Each round also pays full price for text that was translated before, and unpublished accounts and draft filings carry real confidentiality exposure. Guildhawk answers that with one accountable supplier, certified output suitable for notarisation and legalisation, terminology and memory assets built up over more than two decades, human verification by qualified financial and legal linguists, and secure ISO 27001 handling with an audit trail behind every filing.
